3-Day Silent Vipassana Meditation for Health and Social Program Workers

At Presbytery Point Camp, Lake Michigamme

​

                       Friday, April 30, 5pm - Monday, May 2, 5pm

​

​

These classes will be limited to 20 participants. They are free, inclusive of food, lodging and all instruction. Donations, gratefully accepted after completion of the program, are not required. If you would like to participate, please read the requirements carefully.

​

1. This program is for mental health and social program workers - volunteer or paid, providing any service to our community (If you are committed to your health and happiness and offer any service at all, you qualify). If this isn't you, keep checking back, or subscribe.

​

2. Read all information on the "About Vipassana" page on this site. Even though this is only a 3-day program, it is rigorous and requires commitment and understanding of what you are signing up for.

​

This is the schedule for the weekend:

 

Thursday evening 

Arrive between 3-5 pm

5:00pm - Light meal/ organize in rooms

6:00-7:00pm - Orientation in lodge

8:00-9:00 ~Silence begins~ Anapana instruction in meditation hall

9:00 - Go to bed

9:30 - Lights out

First day - Anapana

6am Wake up

6:30-7:30 Meditation period 

7:30-9:00 Breakfast break (food will be out until 8am)

9:00-10:00 - Group Sitting in meditation hall

10:15-11:30 Meditate as instructed 

11:30am -1:30pm Lunch break (food will be out until 12:15)

(1:00, optional individual 'technique related' questions with Dakota, in hall)

1:30-2:15 - Meditate on your own

2:30-3:30 - Group Sitting in meditation hall

3:30-5:00 - Meditate on your own

5:00-6:00 - Light dinner/tea (put away at 5:30)

6:00-7:00 - Group Sitting in meditation hall

7:10-8:00 - Q&A/discourse in hall

8:15 -9:00 - Meditate in hall 

9:00 - Go to bed

 

Second day - Anapana/Vipassana 

6am Wake up

6:30-7:30 Meditation period 

7:30-9:00 Breakfast

9:00-10:30 Vipassana Instruction - Group Sitting in meditation hall

10:30-11:30  - Meditate on your own

11:30am -1:30pm Lunch break (food will be out until 12:15)

Third day - Vipassana/Metta

9:00-10:15 Metta Instruction - Group Sitting in meditation hall 

10:30-11:30 - Meditate on your own

11:30am -1:30pm Lunch break (food will be out until 12:15)

1:30-2:00 - Meditate on your own

2:15-3:30 - Group Sitting in meditation hall

~Silence Ends~

3:30-5:00 - Meditate/visit/ask questions

5:00 - Program ends
